“It stems from my performing country music with my brother when I was 12 years old,” she said in a recent telephone interview. “It’s a period that really opened a lot of doors for me, and a lot of these songs stem from that.”
Tracks include The Pain of Loving You by Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton, who offered her early encouragement, and the country classic There Stands the Glass , lyrics by Webb Pierce. Ms. Loveless said part of the project’s appeal was the idea that she might introduce a new generation of musicians to an integral part of the country music lexicon.
