I am so excited about the new patty album. i have all her albums from 1985 to present and will see her in concert for the first time in september. There ain’t nobody who can sing a sad heartbreak song like patty. Her music has helped me through many situations in my life. The saguror for giveng patty a great home to be at, whre she can do the music we all love.

Some people don’t like albums of cover songs, but I’m happy to see Tanya has an album coming out and I really don’t care if it’s cover songs or new music, just so long as Tanya’s singing it. She is the best.

Thanks so much for the clarifcation Saguaro, this is incredible, even better news! You made my day, and I think you brightened the day of many, many other Patty Loveless fans as well..;)

The style you folks describe sounds a lot like Patty’s unique Mountain Blend of acoustic and electric,.. It sounds like the style she pioneered on her On Your Way Home and Dreamin’ My Dreams records, taken to a whole new level, only this time with a healthy dose of the drumless purity of Mountain Soul.

Incredible roster of guest artists as well.

This sounds like it has all the ingredients to be one of Patty’s greatest albums ever, and you folks have made many of us very happy with this news!

We cannot thank you, Patty, Emory and everyone involved, enough!

Dear Saguaro Readers, I want to apologize for the confusion.

The new Patty record is a follow up to the 2001 Mountain Soul record.

From Saguaro A & R guy,

“It is quite bluegrass, but not so much that bluegrass purists would call it bluegrass, i.e. there is some steel guitar on one or two tracks as well as electric guitar here and there, but mostly is it acoustic guitars, bass and mandolins, banjos etc. No drums whatsoever.

Songs vary from a few classics to songs written by various writers that have not been recorded or released before as well as a few songs Patty recorded earlier, but this time they are arranged in this totally different style…

Guests artists include the bleugrass musicians Ron and Del McCoury, steel guitarist Al Perkins, Vince Gill and Rebecca Lynn Howard on harmony vocals etc.”

Wait, Patty Loveless is making another covers record? Everything is all covers again?

That’s disappointing. I sure love Patty, but everyone is doing this covers trend, and Patty did not only one but going to do another one? I’d rather have the FEEL of vintage country, but not more covers songs.

I am happy to hear about Patty, too! I wasnt expecting a new one this quick. Looking at the comments above, I didnt realize another covers record was in the works too. I’d really love new material!

And details please details…Saguaro, can you give us any?

Such as…Does this new Patty Loveless album contain new material with a very Traditional, vintage style sound or will it be more actual covers of vintage Country classics?

Either way, it’s bound to be another labor-of-love treasure from Patty and Emory.
