About Saguaro Road Records

Saguaro Road Records Press Release

Direct Holdings Americas Inc.

Label’s First Signing,
Singer/Songwriter Rebecca Lynn Howard,
Will Release
No Rules
in June 2008

Fairfax, VA, March 31, 2008 — Direct Holdings Americas Inc. announces that it will launch a new label imprint this summer, Saguaro Road Records. Direct Holdings also markets and sells audio and video entertainment products under the Time Life brand, which it uses under license from Time Warner Inc. Saguaro Road Records will make its debut with a new album from Rebecca Lynn Howard, one of Nashville’s most dynamic and successful young singer/songwriters. No Rules will be released in June 2008.

The label will be distributed in retail channels in the U.S. exclusively by WEA Corp., Warner Music Group Corp.’s U.S. sales and retail distribution company.

“Saguaro Road Records is dedicated to working with and presenting highly talented and uniquely American artists” said Direct Holdings Senior Vice President of Retail Mike Jason. “We are incredibly fortunate to have Rebecca Lynn as our first Saguaro Road release.” “Even in a changing market, success starts with great music,” he continues, “and from there, we offer artists our unparalleled success in direct sales to consumers as well as all the traditional label sales and marketing efforts.”

John Esposito, President and CEO of WEA Corp., added, “It is an exciting new era for our retail distribution partner as they launch Saguaro Road Records with a growing roster of innovative emerging and established artists. We are delighted to be a part of this exciting new venture by expanding upon our relationship with their team and continuing to offer our sales and marketing expertise as well as the full support of our extensive distribution network.”

Named after the picturesque and particularly stalwart southwestern cactus, Saguaro Road Records will focus on artists that have a uniquely American, roots oriented sound. The first signing is Nashville-based singer/songwriter Rebecca Lynn Howard, a 28-year-old who scored a top 5 Country album, Forgive, in 2002. As a songwriter, her songs have been recorded by music legends Trisha Yearwood, Reba McIntire, Patty Loveless and John Michael Montgomery. The second Saguaro Road release, also in June, will be Edwin McCain’s Nobody’s Fault But Mine, a homage to the great soul songs of the 1960’s. Well known for such hits as “I’ll Be,” “I Could Not Ask For More,” “Solitude” and “Hearts Fall”, Edwin has sold millions of albums worldwide and continues to be one of the most prolific touring artists on the road today.

Additional signings will be announced in the coming weeks.

Time Life is a registered trademark of Time Warner Inc. and affiliated companies, used under license by Direct Holdings Americas Inc., which is not affiliated with Time Warner Inc.

  2. I am thrilled that you be will releasing a new Patty Loveless CD. I have been a fan for years. I worked in radio in the 80’s and talked on the phone with her a couple of times. Although, I have never met her…I have continued to buy her music and see her in concert. She is a true American artist that sings from the heart.

I can’t wait for new music and hopefully new concerts to come.

By the way…Reba McEntire is spelled McEntire, not McIntire as your press release indicates. Just in case, she ever needs a new deal, I thought you might like to know.

Thanks again for signing Patty Loveless…I will be patiently awaiting the release of new music from this great artist.

  3. I Think it’s Great that you guys have Patty on your label. She defines what the ladies in country music are sorely missing today. Since you guys signed one of the Greatest female talents ever consider signing one of the Greatest male country voices still out there, Doug Supernaw? I’m in no way tied into him, I’m just a fan who thinks all he needs is a new musical home that would appreciate him, and his traditional talent. Thanks again I cant wait for the new Patty Loveless cd.

  4. First of all, I know that this is not the way to do this…I’m a totally unknown songwriter but I think this song could be…well… !!! I hope maybe a new label could be open to unsolicited material. If not, I’m sorry to bother you, if so… CAN’T AFFORD THE GAS ! myspace.com/patrickscottsongwriter
    Thanx for Patty Loveless!!!

  5. Thank you for signing Patty Loveless. She is a true artist, true to her roots, true to her fans, a Jewel. Her heartfelt performances, her delicate but strong gift of being able to pull the listener into a song, she will make you FEEL a song. Her live performances are mesmerizing. She can pull every heartstring you have with her unique ability to pull you into the ache of a song, the joy in a song. The heart and true SOUL she puts into her art is RARE and does not exist on country radio of today. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and hooked and haunted by her supreme ability to captivate and soothe my soul with her pure but STRONG vocal range. Hear the ache in her voice once – you’re a fan from that moment on. She is music and what music is supposed to be about.

  6. I’m just a fan of patty loveless, so I think its great, but I love your guitar pick and cactus logo, fantastic!!! Make some t shirts or hats I buy one for sure!!

  9. My 23 year old daughter who happens to be a huge Dion fan like myself excitedly called out to me yesterday that she saw online that Dion had released a new CD. I went to see her at the computer and we read the news. We listened to a part of Summertime Blues. The next words out of my mouth were telling her to find where it is for sale. This morning I went to the store and have been enjoying all day.The DVD was great, just hearing Dion tell the stories was something that would put any fan in awe. I was lucky to meet Dion several years ago after a concert when he was touring during the time ‘Deja Nu’ was stirring things up. He is as great as his music. Thanks for also including one of my all time favorites- ‘Jailhouse Rock’. Please Dion, continue to ‘Rock On’ for all of us.

  37. Hey guys, I just saw on Mark Chesnutts website that you are his record label. I am also a country artist from Beaumont, and I am well known in the area. I thought that if you like Marks stuff then maybe you would like mine. I have had commercial airplay and also many internet radio airplay, here in the US and abroad. I think that if you give my music a listen and a chance that I could be your next signed artist. I truly believe that with your guys help my stuff would be a hit. It is very radio friendly and produced professionally in Nashville, NO garage band stuff here. I am a seasoned entertainer as well. I will send you two tracks from my CD “Simple Life” through your drop box feature. Please contact me with any comments. John

  38. Could you guys please send me an email so that I know you at least received my post. Thanks.
